Izet Pajević, MD, Ms, PhD, Full Professor

Departmednt of Psychiatry, University Clinical Center Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Born and he is living in Tuzla. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1985. Since 1986 he has been working at the Department of Psychiatric of the University Clinical Center Tuzla. He completed his specialization in neuropsychiatry in 1993 and has been the Chief of the Clinic since 2001. During 1995 he attended a training course at Missouri University – Columbia (USA), from 1998 to 1999 he completed his education in supervisory work (University in Goteborg) and from 2002-2013 education for group analyst educator (Institute for Group Analysis Zagreb). He received his master’s degree in 1999 and his doctorate in 2003. In the same year, he was elected assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla, in 2008 as associate professor and in 2015 as a full professor in the subject “Psychiatry with medical psychology”. He was awarded the title of primaries in 2003, and has been a Certified Clinical Psychiatry Specialist since 2011. He has published over 170 professional and scientific papers. He is the author of several book chapters and editor and reviewer of several books. He is a member of the World and European Psychiatrists Association. Currently, he is the President of the Association of Psychiatrists in B-H, the Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in B-H and the Association of Psychiatrists of Tuzla Canton, the Vice President of the Association for Integrative Medicine in B-H, and a member of the Presidency of the Association of Group Analysts in B-H.

Miro Jakovljević, MD, Ms, PhD, Academic, Full Professor,

Clinic for Psychiatry, CHC Rebro, Zagreb, Croatia

MD, PhD, distinguished professor of Psychiatry, University of Zagreb. He was Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb in University Hospital Centre Zagreb (2007-2015), Head of the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, University of Mostar (2000-2013), and the vice-dean for science of the Mostar School of Medicine, Bosnia and Herzegovina (2007-2013). He published 20 books and more than 200 scientific and professional papers, also having 28 chapters in the books of other authors. He is the editor-in-chief of the international journal “Psychiatria Danubina“. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts,  foreign member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina,full member of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences,  the president of the Croatian Society for Psychopharmacotherapy and Biological Psychiatry of Croatian Medical Association and ECNP ambassador for Croatia.The area of ​​scientific interest, clinical psychopharmacology and creative psychopharmacotherapy, biological psychiatry, psychotherapy, spiritual psychiatry and transdisciplinary integrative psychiatry.

Osman Sinanovic, MD, Ms, PhD, Professor Emeritus

Sarajevo Medical School, Univerity Sarajevo School of Science and Technology

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, received his master’s degree from the Faculty of Medicine in Tuzla, and his doctorate from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. She is a specialist in neuropsychiatry. Professor Emeritus is at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla and Sarajevo Medical Faculty, SSST University. He is a visiting professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Osijek and the Polytechnic of Vukovar. He has held the position of Head of the Clinic for Psychiatry of UKC Tuzla from 1993 to 2001, Chief of the Clinic of Neurology of UCC Tuzla from 2001 to 2003 and from 2013 to 2017, Assistant Director of UKC Tuzla for Science, Research and Education, and Head of the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Diseases, Clinic of Neurology, Clinical Center of Tuzla. He is a member and vice-president of the B-H Academy of Medical Sciences, an honorary member of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences and Gaetano Conte Academy Italy, and a board member of the IUC Dubrovnik Multiple Sclerosis Academy, the Curatorium of the International Neuropsychiatric Congresses in Pula, the ANUBiH Research Group on Neurology and Psychiatry and the Research Group on Organization and provision of neurological services by the World Association of Neurologists. He is Vice President of the Association of Neurologists in B-H and a member of the Executive Board of the International Association of Neurologists ACEEP. He is the editor-in-chief of the electronic magazine Health Herald. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Acta Myologica and the Medical Archive and editorial staff of the journal of the Society of Neurologists of Serbia and the journal of the Society of Neurologists of Croatia. He has published 47 books and monographs, hundreds of different publications and has been cited more than 1280 times. He has delivered numerous lectures at home and abroad and has been a mentor in 35 master’s theses and 17 doctoral theses.

Dragan Babić, MD, Ms, PhD, Full Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar

He is a doctor of medicine, a specialist of neuropsychiatry, a subspecialist of Social Psychiatry, employed at the Clinic for Psychiatry of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar. He is a Full Professor at the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Faculty of Law of the University of Mostar. He is the Vice Dean for Education and International Relations at the Faculty of Health Studies and chief editor of the electronic journal Health Bulletin. He published two books and wrote twelve chapters in books by other authors. He is the author and co-author of over 130 professional and scientific articles, 71 of which are in PubMed (28 CC). He participated in several international projects. He is the mentor of 11 PhD theses, over 50 Master’s theses, and over 200 Bachelor’s theses. He is the member of presidency and the vice-president of the Association of Psychiatrists of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the period from 2013 to 2014, he held the position of the president of this association. He is the head of the organizing committee of the international symposium Psychiatric Saturday in Mostar since 2004. He is the winner of the Rector’s Award for outstanding contribution to the development of the University through distinguished work in the scientific, teaching and professional field in 2018 and 2019. He is the member of the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ninoslav Mimica, MD, Ms, PhD, Full professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, Vrapče, Zagreb, Croatia Psychiatrist, primarius, IFAPA, born in 1959 in Zagreb, Croatia. He is subspecialist from the field of biological psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and social psychiatry. Currently in the position of full professor and senior scientist, re-elected. He is employed at the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb, currently Head of the Department for Biological Psychiatry and Psychogeriatrics. He is leading the Reference Center of Ministry of Health of Republic of Croatia for Alzheimer’s Disease and Old Age Psychiatry. He is president of the Alzheimer Croatia and Croatian Association for Alzheimer’s Disease and Old Age Psychiatry, CroMA, and founder of the Croatian Alzheimer’s Alliance. He represents Croatia in the umbrella organizations Alzheimer’s Disease International, Alzheimer Europe and the Mediterranean Alzheimer Alliance.


Esmina Avdibegović, MD, Ms, PhD, Full Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, UCC Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina Esmina Avdibegović, neuropsychiatrist, subspecialist of social psychiatry, group analyst and educator in group analysis, doctor of medical sciences, professor of the University of Tuzla, is employed at the Department of Psychiatry, University Clinical Center Tuzla and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla. She is a lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation and at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Tuzla and visiting professor at the Faculty of Health, Legal and Business Studies at the University of Singidunum in Valjevo (Republic of Serbia). Faculty of Medicine and specialization in neuropsychiatry completed in Sarajevo. Postgraduate studies enrolled at the University of Tuzla, where she obtained a master’s degree and a doctor of medical sciences. Sub-specialist training in social psychiatry ended in 2005, education in group analysis of 2009 with the title of educators in group analysis in 2013. In the teaching process at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tuzla included since 1992. She has published several books, scientific and professional papers in the field of psychiatry and neurology. The main areas of research are mental health and human rights, social psychiatry, suicide, psycho-trauma and psychotherapy.

Marija Burgić-Radmanović, MD, Ms, PhD, Full Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, University Clinical Centre Banjaluka,  Bosnia and Herzegovina

She was born in Banja Luka, where she finished elementary school and high school, and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo. She specialized in neuropsychiatry and postgraduate studies in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. At the Psychiatric Clinic in Banja Luka, she is the head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which she founded in 2002. From 2006 to 2010 has served as Head of the Psychiatric Clinic. From 2008 to 2010 and 2016 to 2018 she was the President of the Association of Psychiatrists in B-H and then as Vice President. Prof. Dr. Marija Burgic served as President of the Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in B-H. She is a member of the Education Section of the World Psychiatric Association. She is a full professor at the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka. To 2015 she was the head of the Department of Psychiatry. She is a member of many scientific and professional organizations or associations: member of the Association of Doctors of Medicine of the RS, the Association of Psychiatrists in B-H, the Association of Neuropsychiatrists of Serbia, the Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of Serbia, the European Association of Psychiatrists, a member of the Education Section in the World Psychiatric Section, a member of the Committee on Cardiovascular Pathology of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republic of Srpska. She is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Psychological Abnormalities in Children, USA; Journal of Psychology and Cognition and Austin Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and previously served on the editorial board of Scripta medica. She is the mother of three children.

Alija Sutović, MD, Ms, PhD, Full Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, UCC Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Born in Rozaje in 1956, and finished elementary school and high school there. Medical Faculty finished in Sarajevo in 1981 and specialized in neuropsychiatry in Tuzla and Zagreb, where he also completed the specialist exam in 1988. Gained Master’s thesis in “Clinical and Psycho-diagnostic Characteristics of PTSD Veterans” in 1996 and Ph.D thesis in “Forensic-psychiatric characteristics of murder in peace and war times” at the Medical Faculty in Tuzla in 2001. Member of the Victims and Witnesses Support Network at the ICTY in The Hague. In 2002 elected as the Assistant Professor, in 2007 he was awarded the title of Associate Professor, and in 2015 the permanent title of Full-time Professor for the subject of Psychiatry with Medical Psychology, at Medical Faculty of the University of Tuzla, where he has worked as the Head of the Psychiatry with Medical Psychology subject since 2006. At the Clinic for Psychiatry University Clinical Centre Tuzla he has worked as the Head of the Department of Clinical Psychiatry. Married and has three children. Speaks Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and English.

Milan Stojaković, MD, Ms, PhD, Full Professor

Cinic for Psychiatry, UCC Banjaluka, Bosnia and Herzegovina

He was born in 1963 in Tuzla. He graduated from Gymnasium in Banja Luka in 1982. He graduated in 1989 from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka, and has since worked at the Psychiatry Clinic of the Clinical Center in Banja Luka. He is a full professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka, Specialist Psychiatrist, subspecialist of Forensic Psychiatry, member and president of the Assembly of the Association of Psychiatrists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, member of the Chamber of Doctors of Medicine of Republic of Srpska, member of the EPA-European Psychiatric Association, member of the WPA-World Psychiatric Association, Member of AMDA International – Association of Medical Doctors of Asia, President of AMDA Republic of Srpska – Association of Doctors of Medicine of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  He has previously served as Chief of the Psychiatric Clinic in Banja Luka, Head of the Special Psychiatric Activities Unit and Head of the Psychotic Disorders Unit. He is the author and co-author of dozens of bibliographic units published in renowned foreign and domestic journals. He is the author of a chapter in forensic psychiatry in the textbook Fundamentals of Psychiatry – for students of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade, and has 6 published books in the field of psychiatry.He is the editor-in-chief of the international journal Psymedica.

Kanita Dervić, MD, Ms, PhD, Full Professor

Faculty of Medicine, University in Vienna, Austria

She obtained her MD degree from Medical Faculty of Sarajevo, and also graduated from Music Academy of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. She completed her specialty training in Child & Adolescent psychiatry and Adult psychiatry at University Hospitals (AKH) of Medical University of Vienna, Austria. She has also been a Postdoctoral Reseach Fellow at Columbia University, New York, USA (Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Division of Neuroscience). Prof. Dervic was the first woman at Medical University of Vienna who obtained Habilitation (highest academic qualification in German-speaking Europe) for child and Adolescent Psychiatry and subsequently was appointed as Associate Professor of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Medical University of Vienna in 2007. She held various clinical and academic leadership positions at Medical University of Vienna and internationally. Prof. Dervic is recipient of numerous national and international awards/recognitions (e.g. Research Award of European Psychiatric Association in 2004; recognition for scientific merits from Austrian Ministry of Science and Austrian president in 2016). Her research interests focus on suicidal behavior and prevention in childhood and adolescence. She published extensively in leading scientific journals and is a frequently invited speaker at international conferences.

Vera Daneš-Brozek, MD, Ms, PhD, retired Associated Profesor

Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo

According to a core professional orientation, she is the subspecialists of child psychiatry educated in the psychodynamic orientation. For the most part of employment history, until retirement last year, held on the position as Head of Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychiatric Clinic of the University of Sarajevo and were an associate professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Neurology and Medical Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo. She was also the Head of Department for Health Psychology and Health Education at the Faculty of Health Studies of the University of Mostar. She is the author of a large number of professional and scientific articles in the field of children’s and adolescent psychiatry and has published two books as an author and co-author also in the field of children’s and adolescent psychiatry. She has been involved in numerous local and international professional and scientific projects for mental health protection. Also has experience as a lecturer and supervisor in the education of a psychotherapist, especially in the field of children and adolescent psychotherapy. She is a permanent psychiatric expert. The largest number of cases in which the expert witnesses are related to child abuse and the children custody matters in divorce, but also she works expertises from other areas of psychiatry. She was the first head of Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Bosnia and Hercegovina (UDAP in BiH).

Miro Klarić, MD, Ms, PhD, Associate Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, Unoversity Clinical Hospital Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina

He was born on March 11th, 1957 in Teslić, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated on the Faculty of Medicine in 1982 in Tuzla. He obtained a diploma in Neuropsychiatry as Medical specialty in 1991, in the Military Medical Hospital, Belgrade. He completed postgraduate studies in the field of Biomedicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, Croatia. He obtained master’s degree on a topic “Psychological consequences of women exposed to chronic war stress” under mentorship of Professor Tanja Frančišković. In 2008 he obtained PhD working with the same mentor on a topic “Secondary traumatization of wives of war veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder”. He has been working at the Psychiatric Clinic in Mostar since 1994 and he currently holds the position of Head of Clinic for Psychiatry. He held the position of University Clinical Hospital director assistant in Mostar since 2011. In 2013 He became dean of Psychiatry Desk of the Faculty of Medicine in Mostar and Associate Professor became the following year. So far, he published over 50 professional and scientific papers in foreign and local journals and participated in dozens of domestic and international congresses. He is also the author of one of the official students’ books and seven chapters in various professional books.

Mevludin Hasanović, MD, Ms, PhD, Associate Professor 

Clinic for Psychiatry, University Clinical Center Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Born in Brčko in 1958, He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo in 1982 and obtained his specialization in neuropsychiatry in Zagreb (Croatia) in 1991. He enrolled in postgraduate studies at the University of Zagreb and graduated from Tuzla, where he earned a master’s and doctor’s degree in medical sciences. Doctor of Medical Sciences (2009), Associate Professor at the University of Tuzla (2014). He is employed at the Department of Psychiatry of the University Clinical Center in Tuzla. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences of the University of Tuzla and the Islamic Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Zenica. Primarius since 1994, and since 2006 he is group analyst, while from 2013 he acts as group analysis educator, also, he is accredited EMDR Practitioner (2013) and EMDR Consultant (2017). He is in the teaching process at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla since 1996. Has published over 300 professional and scientific papers, his works have been cited on Google scholars 750 times. H-index = 15, I-10 index = 20. He was three times awarded the second prize for the best published scientific work at the University Center Tuzla in 2005, 2006, and 2012/13. He is a member of the editorial boards of several national and international journals. Vice President of the TK Psychiatrists Association, the President of the EMDR Therapists Association in BiH and the Association of Psychotherapy Associations in BiH. He is married and has five children.

Alma Džubur Kulenović, MD, Ms, PhD, Associate Professor 

Clinic for Psychiatry, Clinicsal Center of University Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

She is Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology of University of Sarajevo Faculty of Medicine and is the Director of Neurology and Psychiatry in the Clinical Center of Sarajevo University. She has extensive experience working on reforming mental health services in Croatia and B-H in collaboration with the University of Illinois in Chicago and the Mental Health Project of the Federal Ministry of Health in B-H. She holds the position of General Secretary at the Association of Psychiatrists and Association for Biological Psychiatry in the Federation of B-H. She  has over twenty four years of experience as an attending psychiatrist and in research. She has presented professional and scientific papers at multiple forums nationally and internationally, authored and co-authored textbooks, books and published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals. She held the position of Regional editor of the Croatian Medical Journal for B-H until 2015. She has been involved as a researcher in two European Framework FP6 projects and is the Prinicipal investigator in three other prominent internationally funded research projects (DAAD, GHR and FP7, Horizon 2020). Experience working on reform of mental health services in B-H and Croatia through the activities of the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Stability Pact Mental Health Project (Regional Expert) as well as the Federal Ministry of Health. She is the Secretary General of the Association of Psychiatrists of B-H, she was the Secretary General of the Association for Biological Psychiatry in the Federation of B-H from its foundation until 2017. She is a member of the Committee for Research in Neurology and Psychiatry of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of B-H. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo, Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo. She is the director of the neuropsychiatric discipline at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo.

Mira Spremo, MD, Ms, PhD, Associate Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, University Clinical Center Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Born in 1963 in Banja Luka. She graduated from the Grammar School and the Faculty of Medicine in Banja Luka, and is a full-time employee of the Clinical Center for Psychiatry, Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Psychiatry. After completing her specialization in psychiatry and postgraduate studies in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, she was awarded master’s degree with thesis entitled “Suicidal Ideas of Adolescents in Banja Luka Secondary Schools” in 2004 and defended her doctoral thesis “Anorexia and Bulimia nervosa in the Adolescent Population” at the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo. She has completed several psychotherapy training courses and she is the author and co-author of several scientific and professional papers and a collaborator and consultant on several projects. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Banja Luka and is Head of the Department of Psychiatry. Also, she is permanent consultant at the Association of Parents of Children with Autism “Children of Light”.

Edin Bjelošević, MD, Ms, PhD, Associate Professor

Center for Mental Health, Primary Health Care Center Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Born on 28.06.1957 in Zenica. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Sarajevo in 1984. He completed his master studies on 20.11.2003 and his doctoral studies on 20.11.2010. He has been an Assistant Professor since 2018. He has completed a number of various trainings in psychiatry and mental health. He has been the Head of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Team at the Healthcare Centre of Zenica since 2015 and  Head of the Department of Neuropsychiatry at the Faculty of Health of the University of Zenica since 25.05.2011. He has participated in the efforts of the commission for the establishment of the Faculty of Health and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica. He is one of the founders of the Mental Health Centre and the Institution for Fight Against Addiction Diseases in Zenica. He is a professor and an organizer of numerous preventive programs and projects for mental health professionals, general practitioners, nurses, educational workers, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and elementary and secondary school students. He is the supervisor of 35 graduate papers and six master thesis, and a co-supervisor of one doctoral thesis. He is the author of several papers published in journals and presented on congresses. He published 7 books as an author/co-author.

Zihnet Selimbašić, MD, Ms, PhD, Associate Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, UCC Tuzla

He was born in 1959 in Pauc, Municipality of Kladanj. Graduated on the Faculty of Medicine in Tuzla in 1986, and finalized specialist neuropsychiatric examination in 1995. Education in the field of child and adolescent traumatic psychology and psychiatry at Missouri University, USA in 1995. Trauma and Human Development Education in cooperation with Harvard Public School, University of Rijeka and the University of Sarajevo ended in 1997, and in co-operation with UNICEF in 1998 education from post-traumatic therapy. Education from supervisory methods in collaboration with the Division of Clinical Neuroscience and Psichiatry, Gothenburg, Sweden for Clinical Supervision in 2000. Postgraduate study “Children and adolescent psychiatry and psychology” ended in 2002. He was awarded Master degree with thesis “Psychosocial problems of children of parents with posttraumatic disorder”  in 2005 at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Sarajevo. He obtained PhD degree with thesis “Disorders of behavior and emotional problems in children of war veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder”  in 2011 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla. He participated in the psychosocial programs “Assistance to children and adults who died in the war and after the war” from 1994 to 2004 as well as “Exchange of experiences of the aides / therapists of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany” from 1999 to 2001. He gained the title as group analyst in 2010. Since 2009, He is the Head of the Daily Hospital of the Clinic for Psychiatry, Pediatric Clinical Hospital Tuzla. Since 2011, he is an Assistant professor and from 2019 an Associate Professor in Psychiatry with Medical Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla.

Ph.D Nermina Kravić, Assistant professor

Neuropsychiatrist, subspecialist of Child and Adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy, group analyst, is employed at the Department of Psychiatry on the University Clinical Center Tuzla, and is Head of the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Psychiatry. She was born in 1968 in Tuzla and in 1993 obtained the title of Doctor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla. She attended postgraduate studies in Child and Adolescent psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. Holds a master’s and doctoral degree on the consequences of war trauma and traumatic losses experienced in early childhood. She has participated in several international cooperation projects with universities in Norway, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, USA. She has been employed at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tuzla since 2004. Has published several scientific and professional papers in national and international journals, participated in scientific and professional conferences. She is the secretary of the Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Bosnia and Herzegovina and was the president of the Professional Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry, Tuzla Canton.

Nermana Mehić Basara, MD, Ms, PhD, Assistant professor

She is Primaries, Neuropsychiatrist and Subspecialist for addiction diseases. Associate professor at University of Sarajevo, Faculty  of Health Studiesand Director of the Institute for Addiction Diseases of the Sarajevo Canton She participated actively in more than 60 local, regional and international professional conferences, has been the organizer of several mental health conferences, member of the Organizing Committee of the First (2003) and the Second (2007) Congress of Psychiatrists of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as a member of the Congress Committee of the Third and Fourth Congress of Psychiatrists of B&H (2012, 2017). Up to now, she published over 20 scientific and professional papers in the field of addiction, community mental health and posttraumatic stress disorder in relevant scientific journals. As author and co-author, she has participated in the development of large number of professional guides, manuals, textbooks and other publications from above mentioned fields. In 2004, awarded with the prestigious “Nyswander-Dole Marie Award” by the American Association for Treatment of Opiate Addiction (AATOD). She lives and works in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ph.D Nera Zivlak-Radulović, Assistent Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, University Clinical Center Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina

She completed psychiatry training at the University of Novi Sad and after that also forensic  psychiatry training at the University of Kragujevac. She is Director of the Clinic for Psychiatry Banja Luka since 2010. She completed  doctoral studies at the University of Banja Luka in 2014. She is an Assistent Professor and lecturer at Paneuropean  University “Aperion”  Banja Luka (Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Law) for subjects Health Psychology,Forensic Psychiatry,   and  Forensic  Psychology and Psychopathology. She is a Professor at the Colledge for Health Science Prijedor for subject Mental Hygiene. She is a member of  Medical Chamber of the Republic of Srpska, Psychiatric Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, President of the Association of Experts for Alcoholism and Other Addictions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has published two books (forensic psychiatry), two books chapters (psychiatry-addiction disease and dermatology), 50 professional and 10 scientific papers (mostly from addictions).She speaks Serbian and English.

Ph.D Marko Martinac, Assistent professor

Center for Mental Health, Dom  zdravlja Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina

He was born in 1967. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. He received his master’s degree (2011) and doctoral dissertation (2013) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Mostar. He also completed his education on addiction treatment in Zagreb (1999) and Italy (1998). He is Head of the Mental Health Center the Mostar Primary Health Care Center and was also employed at the Center for Prevention and Outpatient Treatment of Addiction in Mostar. He is a member of the Board of Directors of APBH, Vice President of the Association of Alcoholologists and Experts for Other Addictions in BiH, also he is a member of the Croatian Society of Biological Psychiatry and Clinical Psychopharmacology and the World Society of Biological Psychiatry. Awarded for best scientific work by the Croatian Society for Alcoholism and Other Addictions (2004) , the Croatian Psychiatric Society (2006),  Editorial Board of the international journal Alcoholism, an assistant editor in the scientific journals Health Journal and Medicine Academica Mostariensia. He is a longtime member of the Organizing Committees of Mostar Psychiatric Saturdays, and of the Organizing Committee of the Croatian Conference on Alcoholism and Other Addictions, and the Alpe-Adria Conference on Alcoholism. He was a researcher on the Federal Ministry of Science project. So far, he has published more than 30 congressional abstracts and 70 papers in indexed journals (18 in CC and 9 in SCI). She speaks English.

Elvir Bećirović, MD, Ms, PhD, Assistent professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, University Clinical Center Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla in 2002. Passed the specialist exam in neuropsychiatry in 2009.He received his master’s degree in 2009 on “Sexual dysfunction in war veterans with PTSD.” He received his PhD in 2017 on “The Relationship of Emotional Intelligence, Alexithymia, and Empathy with Symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Pore” and was promoted to Assistant Professor. Attended Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training from 2007 till 2011 and obtained the title of EMDR practitioner. In 2015, he completed several years of education and obtained the title of Group Analyst. He completed training in Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Persuasion and Social Impact, and Hypnotherapy. He attended psychiatry seminars organized by Weill Cornell University in Salzburg (Austria) in 2006 and 2008. In 2008, he attended the Core Maudsley Forum organized by the Institute of Psychiatry and King’s College in London (England). He attended a study exchange in psychiatry at Donauspital in Vienna (Austria) in 2009. He completed his education on schizophrenia organized by the Lundbeck Institute in Copenhagen (Denmark) in 2012.

Amra Memić-Serdarević, MD, Ms, PhD, Assistant professor 

Clinic for Psychiatry, Clinical Center of University Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Employed at the Psychiatric Clinic, Clinical Center University of Sarajevo, as a specialist neuropsychiatrist and assistant professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology, Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo. In addition to clinical work, she is engaged in scientific research in the fields of clinical and biological psychiatry, and psychiatric genetics. Author and co-author of several works. She has participated in many domestic and international research projects. She has also participated in numerous congresses, symposia, conferences as an active participant and invited lecturer, as well as in educational schools and trainings. She was awarded Master and PhD degre at the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo. Doctoral thesis in the field of psychiatric genetics, under the mentorship of Prof. dr. Marcella Rietschel, PhD, worked at the Psychiatric Clinic, Clinical Center University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo and the Psychiatric Clinic in Mannheim, Faculty of Medicine, University of Heidelberg.

Rusmir Softić, MD, ;Ms, PhD, Assistant Professor

Clinic for Psychiatry, Clinical Center of University Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Rusmir Softić was born in Tuzla in 1973. Dr. Softic graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tuzla in 2001. He is neuropsychiatry specialist since 2008. He completed two postgraduate studies, first in the field of “Psychotherapy” and second, in biomedical sciences. Dr. Softic defended the master and doctoral thesis from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla. He become the first accredited EMDR psychotherapist in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He completed a six-year education in the psychotherapeutic field “Group Analysis“ and gained the title of a group therapist. He is certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner. From 2008 to 2017 he was working as a specialist in the Department of Psychiatry in Tuzla,  He works at the Psychiatric Clinic in Sarajevo, as Head of the Day Hospital since 2017. He is a lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla.

Zvezdana Stojanović, MD, Ms, PhD, Assistant professor

She was born on 02.01.1972 year. In 2017 she was appointed as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine at the Military Medical Academy (MMA) of the University of Defense in Belgrade. In 2016, She obtained PhD degree with her doctoral dissertation “Examining the Effect of Electroconvulsive Therapy on Cognitive and Mnestic Functions in Depressed Persons”, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kragujevac. From 2000-2004. She completed her specialization in psychiatry at the Military Medical Academy and attended the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, 1991-1997 year. She has been a member at the Society for Neurosciences of Serbia since 2017 and at the Association of Psychiatrists of Serbia since 2007. Vesna Horvat, MD, Ms

Clinic for Psychiatry Clinical Cenzer of University Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

She had been graduated from the University of Medicine in Sarajevo. Employed at the Psychiatric Clinic of the Sarajevo University Hospital. Specialised in neuropsychiatry and young people by pursuing further sub-specialisation in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Completed postgraduate studies in Child  and Adolescent Psyciatry.Completed a five–year training course in Group Analysis. During the war and afterwards, She worked on projects providing psychosocial assistance to young people,such as the „Rainbow“ Centre of the Medisin de Mond organisation,Paris and the Centre  for the Victims of Torture by the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT), Copenhagen. She participated as a lecturer at various educational  seminars and worked on specialist literature in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for professionals  working in mental health. She represented the Federation of Bosnia  and Herzegovina for the area of mental health of young people as part of the Stability Pact  for South  Eastern  Europe. She has published a number of papers and took part in significant scientific conferences, both domestic and international.

Nermina Hadžagić-Ćurčić, MD, Ms

Clinic for Psychiatry CCU Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

She was born on 15.04.1962 in Sarajevo. She works at the Psychiatric Clinic of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as a specialist in neuropsychiatrist, subspecialist of Child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy. Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo in 1988. Since l989 until 1995 she worked at the Institute for the Health Protection of Transport Workers in Sarajevo as a general practitioner. She has been working at the University of Sarajevo Psychiatric Clinic since 1995. In 1999, she completed her specialization in neuropsychiatry and has worked in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since then. She has been named as the Head of the Department for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2012. She obtained her master’s degree with thesis entitled “Psychosocial Characteristics of the Family and the Effects of Psychosocial Support for Abused Children” as part of the Postgraduate Study “Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology” at the University of Sarajevo in cooperation with the University of Umea (Sweden). From 2005 to 2010, she was educated in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, run by the Croatian Association for Behavioral-Cognitive Therapies. In 2015, became a specialist in pediatric adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy and received the title of Primaries.
